We are honoring Donna Trumbo, founding member of AAPI Placer County. Our beloved Donna passed away in December of 2024. Her celebration of life on January 4, 2025, was filled with so many beautiful and heartwarming stories of how she impacted the lives of so many in our community.
Donna brought light and love to everyone who knew her. Her kindness, strength, and unwavering support will be remembered by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched. She is survived by her husband Joel of 39 years, two sons, and five grandchildren. Joel writes, “Donna accomplished so much during her life. Early in her professional career she was a television reporter and anchorwoman. In later years, she was a pastor working primarily on social issues, a racial equity and diversity consultant and a community activist. She was a fierce warrior when it came to racial equality and a devoted supporter of the LGBTQ community. She was also a great cook, life-long learner and so much fun.”
We take inspiration from the example she set in how she lived her life: with purpose and passion for connecting communities, fearlessly advocating for those in need, and enriching lives with a servant heart.
